san diego fair

we went to the san diego fair a few weeks ago and it was so awesome. there were plenty of animals and fried food. what more can you ask for? i hadn't been to the fair in years and never to the sd fair, but it was by far the biggest i have ever been to. it had plenty of room since it was held on the del mar race track/fairgrounds, which is right next to the ocean. look for more fair pics to come!


i love visiting the animals. it's interesting to see them and to see how "interesting" the people are who raise them. let's just say that most are "sweet spirits." you have to give them credit though. cows are huge and not really that cute like they are in cartoons, lol-and huge cows mean huge poop. no bueno! i do still wonder, though, why some of the goats were wearing clothes....

The best part...

the best part of the fair is THE FRIED FOOD. ok, i'm just gonna put this out there so a certain sister doesn't get on our cases-THE FAIR IS NOT FOR HEALTHY EATING. EVERYTHING IS ON A STICK AND/OR FRIED. GO BIG OR GO HOME! there was fried smores, fried snickers, fried reeses pb cup, fried oreos, fried twinkies, fried chicken and fried pickles...just to name a few. the fair really does put everything on a stick, too, including pizza. the best thing, however, were the AUSTRALIAN BATTERED POTATOES. OMG. best fried food i have ever tasted: long potato slices fried in a batter and then smothered in nacho cheese and ranch. it makes my mouth water!!!!!!!!!!!!!



gotta love that funnel cake-a fair must!

now for the australian battered potatoes...pure genius!!!
